I love searching through many apps especially for my web work like chat, email, twitter and even blogging. I used to post with Zoundry Raven on which I had previously written a blog post here. But then Raven had its limitations. Not exactly limitations, but its not well automated when compared to Windows Live Writer.
Here are some features of the latest Windows Live Write:
- Can have multiple blog accounts with easy switching just with one click (circled at the top left; Zoundry is pretty slow this way)
- You can write your post in the ‘Edit’ mode, or ‘Source’ mode (circled at the bottom left)
- The best part is that you can preview your post OFFLINE once you have downloaded the theme of your blog. You can do this for all the blogs enrolled with Live Writer.
- You can save, edit later and do anything that you usually do with MS Word, etc. This is just too user friendly.
- Mozilla Firefox is used more because of the huge collection of addons available tailored for our needs. The same way Live Write has a collection of Plug-ins that can be installed. The one plug-in you cannot stay without is the Generate Tag Plug-in which will generate all the tags based on the content written in your blog post. You can edit, add more or delete any tags if you prefer. I’m going through almost all the plug-ins and will pick out some damn good ones for a later blog post.
- The most important plug-ins to start with (which I have right now) is the Generate Tag, Find and Replace and Insert Video. If you are using Live Write without the Generate Tag Plug-in, then you must be crazy!
- It also has posting delay, where you can save posts to be published at any later date and time.
